With a growing global population and an increased shortage of access to fresh water, there is an urgent need for new and innovative solutions for better water treatment. With this new investment initiative, Mellby Gård and Feralco aim to identify and connect with companies within the sector and support the scale-up of their solutions.
It is expected that by 2025, 50% of the world’s population will be living in areas that face water scarcity and the pressure on the fresh water sources will continue to be unsustainable. Mellby Gård and Feralco wish to rise to this challenge and are calling for companies with innovative solutions for water treatment in a new investment initiative.
“We know that the water treatment sector is vibrant and full of brilliant ideas, but many companies struggle in taking their ideas to the next level. Feralco and Mellby Gård hope to support scaling up these solutions with our knowledge of the industry and business development”, says Mikael Helmerson, VP Industrial at Mellby Gård.
All new ideas are welcome, but solutions within wastewater phosphorus removal, micropollutants and microplastics treatment and circular treatment processes are of particular interest. The aim of this initiative is to support company growth and development by being a partner that brings both knowledge and financial security.
“Feralco will bring major market know-how, a large network and in-house knowledge on how to accelerate ideas within the industry, regulatory and M&A experience, while Mellby Gård stands for an active and long-term ownership and a belief in the entrepreneurial spirit. With this combination, we believe to be the optimal investor for companies wanting to take the next step in this market”, says Stephen Childs and Ludovic Huitorel, co-CEO’s of Feralco.
Feralco was founded in 2000 and is a leading European provider of water treatment solutions with over 130 million people benefitting from their products globally. The company have an annual turnover of approx. 1.6 billion SEK.
